About me

I have been working at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht (recently renamed Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon) since 1996, where I am presently a senior scientist. My activities are also part of the research cluster CLICCS.

Predictability and causality of climate extremes.

Analysis and simulation of the climate of the past millennia.

Climate and Sea-level variations in the Baltic Sea in the recent past and in the future.

Estimation of regional climate change with regional climate models and statistical downscaling methods.

Statistical analysis and interpretation of limnological time-series.

Previously, I lead the Department of Paleoclimate at the GKSS Research Centre.
Here is a summary of my past positions:

1984-1988 I completed my PhD at the University of Zaragoza (Spain) in Solid State Physics [->].
1980-1984 I studied Physics, with a diploma in Solid State Physics, at the University of Zaragoza, Spain.
